About

At Cedars-Sinai, I have spearheaded major academic growth and development by leading building efforts, recruiting talented nationally recognized faculty leadership, establishing new academic programs, and maintaining standards of excellence for educational training programs. My laboratory has been consistently funded by the NIH since 1980, and I have trained over 60 physicians, scientists and graduate students who occupy leading positions in academic worldwide. My research is devoted to pituitary tumors and its related diseases. I have pioneered the discovery and application of novel treatments for endocrine tumors and am a recognized authority in pituitary medicine. Since PTTG1 was first cloned in my laboratory, I have spent 11 years studying the function of PTTG1, and we have published extensively on the role of PTTG1 in pituitary, colon and breast cancer. I will serve on the Internal Advisory Board of the CTSI representing Cedars-Sinai Research Institute and its faculty. It is an honor to be included in the CTSA K-12 mentorship pool and I look forward to working with these scholars.
