Course Description

Leading experts from UCLA and premier departments across the country and around the world will present cutting edge information on interventional oncology, peripheral vascular disease, and stroke management over this three-day symposium. In addition, the course will explore important new developments that have occurred or are about to make the transition from the bench top to clinical practice.

New for this year will be a Virtual Tumor Board, which will provide participants a multidisciplinary approach to interventional oncology. Speakers will provide practical techniques incorporating each therapeutic modality and will offer useful tools that participants will be able to incorporate into their daily practice.

This conference is relevant for interventional radiologists, neuro-interventional radiologists, and radiologists.

Disclosures

The FDA has issued a concept paper which classifies commercial support of scientific and educational programs as promotional unless it can be affirmed that the program is "truly independent" and free of commercial influence. In addition to independence, the FDA requires that nonpromotional, commercially supported education be objective, balanced, and scientifically rigorous. The policy further states that all potential conflicts of interest of the CME staff and faculty be fully disclosed to the program's participants. In addition, Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education policy now mandates that the provider adequately manages all identified potential conflicts of interest prior to the program. We at UCLA fully endorse the letter and spirit of these concepts.
