Neuroanatomy of synaptic transmission in mammalian forebrain Fisher’s current research focuses on the structure of synaptic terminals and vesicles in mature and developing mammalian forebrain. This work includes continued efforts to elucidate the arrangement of transmitter and receptor systems underlying synaptic neurotransmission and affiliated trophic effects and their dysfunctions. Fisher’s recent findings with (Howard and Campagnoni) dealt with the normal and drug-impacted developmental ex-pression of mRNA encoding the dopaminergic D2 receptors.
