Bio:
Dr. Shahrzad Bazargan-Hejazi is an Assistant Professor of Medical Sociology at Charles Drew University, Department of Psychiatry and Pediatrics with a dual appointment at UCLA as an Assistant Research Sociologist, at the David Geffen School of Medicine, in the research programs of the Jane & Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Dept. of Psychiatry. Her teaching experience exceed over15 years teaching graduate and undergraduate students courses in ���Health Promotion and Disease Prevention���, ���Medical Sociology���, ���Health Behavior��� and ���Research Methods���. In this capacity she has been mentoring allied health students, and has been advisor to several Ph.D candidates. Dr. Bazargan-Hejazi is also the Chair of Medical Student Research Thesis Program at Charles Drew University (CDU), College of Medicine, and David Geffen School of Medicine, medical education program. She is also a senior member of the CDU Institutional Review Board and has consulted several research and service projects in the underserved communities of Southern California. She is also a member of Editorial Advisory Board to The Open Addiction Journal (TOADDJ).
