Pediatrics
David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA

Clinical Department: Pediatrics
Information: As part of the Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA, the Department of Pediatrics provides an extensive range of services, from well-child care to the treatment of the most difficult and life-threatening illnesses. Among our programs are: gastroenterology and nutritional disorders, kidney disease, cardiology, diabetes, HIV infection, neonatal intensive care, genetics, childhood cancer, neurological disorders, epilepsy surgery, adolescent medicine, and cystic fibrosis. We specialize in bone marrow, heart, liver, and kidney transplantation. Services are available for longitudinal well-child care and health maintenance.
The Department of Pediatrics can assist referring physicians and hospitals in arranging emergency transport to the medical center for their patients. The General Pediatrics faculty are available to case-manage any referral by a physician in private practice that results in an inpatient stay. The designated faculty member coordinates consultations and provides direct feedback and progress reports to the referring physician.
Subspecialty evaluation may be arranged directly with the subspecialty office listed in the following pages. For pediatric consultations on weekends or after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, the UCLA page operator at 310/825-6301 will contact the subspecialty physician on call.
